Hi! my aquarium fish (guppies) have some skin infection (white bumps on the skin and the scales are shriveled)

I have an tropical aquarium with 10 guppies and some of them have this infection and i don't know what is wrong. Some small transparent-white humps appeared on the surface of their skin and they seem not to eat well. I think is something serious because 2 already died. Please help!

Hi! my aquarium fish (guppies) have some skin infection (white bumps on the skin and the scales are shriveled)
first, u need to set up a 'doctor' aquarium, meaning a second tank or some way to isolate and possibly medicate the ill fish. guppies are pretty hardy if they are not too young. it might not be an infection, it might be a parasite, but u are most likely correct in your assumption. the 'humps', as you call it, are, again, most likely to be 'ich' (ih-ck), a common disease. do a 25% water change and make sure the temperature is around 77 degrees ferenheight. add something new into their diet: a frozen food, or dried bloodworms, shrimp, etc. this new protien will help them heal faster and resist other illnesses. good luck!!!
Reply:It sounds like ich might be a good possibility. Just to make sure, I'm giving you a link to a few websites.

The first has photos and symptoms - if you click on the photo, it will give you a page with more info.

The second is a list of even more diseases %26amp; symptoms if nothing on the fist sound or look right.

The last is an article about ich and treatment methods. Most will use either the Quick Cure (available at WalMart, so you don't have to wait for a pet store to open) or salt and raised water temperature methods.
